This Sunday

How was your thanksgiving? Mine was awesome. We went and visited with Amy’s family in Missouri. We had the best food. I know you think your food was pretty good but really it couldn’t have been better than what we ate. And my, did we eat! I was so full that… well let’s just say I was really full.

Odd thing about that kind of fullness. I mean, right after dinner I thought it was possible that I would never have to eat again. Of course, that didn’t last. By bedtime I was back in the kitchen heating up leftovers.

That’s the way it is with our everyday, earthly food. We eat and we are nourished for a while and then, then we get hungry again. In the Gospel of John, Jesus said, “I am the bread of life.” When we have that kind of bread, our bodies might get hungry again but spiritually, we’ll be fulfilled. This week at FX we’re going to do some worship, I’m going to teach about Holy Communion, and then we’re going to share together the bread of life. You won’t want to miss it.
