2008 White Water Adventure Dates Set: This year’s White Water Adventure will be from Monday, June 16^th through Thursday June 19^th. The adventure includes a day of rafting, a half-day on the lake (launch a friend from “the blob” or fly down the “zip line”), and several nights at Ace (www.aceraft.com). Mark your calendars. More info and sign-up information will come in the spring.

Attention 10-12 Grade Guys – Retreat just for you: One of the coolest retreat experiences I’ve ever had is now available to you. A group of great people is offering this retreat, called Chrysalis (the girls retreat deadline has passed, if you want to go still there may be room), to older high schoolers from across Columbus. Much like the adult Emmaus walk, this will be three day that I am confident God will use to touch your heart. The boys retreat is February 16-18 (President’s Day Weekend). Cost is just $65. Song Leader Workshop: Do you play the guitar? Are you interested in helping to lead worship for the students? We’re putting together a group of people to go to a Son Leaders’ Seminar Friday evening and then Saturday, February 22 and 23. The cist is $45 and space is very limited. Student Ministry Summer Mission Information Meeting: This summer (July 13-20) the Student Ministry will be again going on a home repair mission with the Appalachia Service Project. Students who will have completed the 8^th grade and will be fourteen by July 13 are invited to an important meeting for students and parents on Tuesday, January 29^th at 7:30 PM in the Youth Room. Adults interested in participating should also plan to come. Depositys ($100) hold your spot and will be accepted beginning at the meeting. Deposits are due February 25^th. If you are interested in participating in the mission but are unable to attend the meeting, email me (students@indian-run.org).

Super Bowl Party: Mark your calendars! On February 3^rd the Student Ministry will be headed back to the Buchan’s home to watch the Super Bowl together. Don’t miss the Jaguars take on the Giants. Even if you don’t like football, come for the fun and the commercials! We’ll gather for kick-off. Plan for parents to pick you up during half-time. Last year the party was so cool, school was cancelled the next day. Don’t miss it! Yes, friends are always welcome!

Upcoming Missions

Good Works Walk for the homeless: We will travel to Athens Ohio to raise awareness of poverty and homelessness in the rural parts of our state. The event is Saturday, January 19^th, 6:30am-2:30 pm. Can you go? Email me! (students@indian-run.org).

30 Hour Famine: Save the date! This year’s 30 Hour Famine will be February 22-23. Again this year we will be raising funds to fight hunger around the world by fasting* thirty hours. (*Most of us will do a juice and water fast. Depending on your health needs, you may modify the fast in a way that makes it possible for you to participate.) Watch for more information as the date gets closer. If you are passionate about the famine we need your help on the Famine Ministry Team.
