Need $$ for Church Events? Serve Brunch 10/26: . If you are interested in helping serve brunch next Sunday (10/26) there will be a sign-up sheet at FX this Sunday or you can e-mail Joan Williams at: joanw@columbus.rr.com.

Student Focus Sunday: It is not too late to get in on this event. There are still openings available at both the 9:30 and 11:00 service. We are still looking for a few more greeters and ushers. We also need a liturgist at the 11:00. E-mail Stephanie if you are interested in helping out: sstoppenhagen@indian-run.org. Practice for Student Focus Sunday will be this Sunday, Oct 19th, at 6:15 for about 15 minutes. (Between MS and HS FX) If you are signed up to greet, usher, or read the liturgy please plan to attend. If you are not signed up yet, but interested, still come and we will get you set up. Beth Filler will be here to help walk everyone through their responsibilities.

July in Christmas – High School ONly Retreat: You have heard of Christmas in July, but have you ever heard of July in Christmas? All 9th-12th graders and their friends are invited to come on a High School only retreat to Lakeside. Lakeside is an entire Methodist community in northern Ohio off of Lake Erie and they are opening up the place for us! Have you ever wanted to participate in a Polar Bear Plunge? How about miniature golf outside in December? What about a weekend with your friends thinking about God surrounded by an entire community which supports you? So save the date December 5-7 and don’t forget your sunscreen. We are getting ready for July in Christmas! Sign-ups start soon. Expected cost $85.

FX HS UPcoming Plans:

October 19th the topic is Optimism. Tonights game involves a blender and several ingredients. Volunteers are needed. Are you feeling optimistic that you will get a good ingredient combination for your drink?

October 26th we are going to be focusing on Serving. After dinner we will break into small groups and head across the street for a Food Scavenger Hunt for the Dublin Food Pantry. We will then gather back at the church to see which group was able to gather the most food for the Dublin Food Pantry. Dress comfortably and appropriately…wear your “Jesus said” t-shirts if possible.

Jim Tressel Wants to See you at “The Main Event”: Jim Tressel, several starters from the 2008 OSU Football Team, members of the marching band, and cheer leaders want you to join them at “The Main Event”. Coach Tressel and the players will be talking about what it is that gets them through a long season (hint: it has something to do with Jesus). Monday, October 27, 2008. Reminder to flyer passer-outers for this Sunday: A reminder to all students who signed up to help collect cards after the9:30 and 11:00 services on Oct.19th, that is this Sunday! Don't forget to leave the service 10 minutes early and meet in the Narthex. Rebecca Price will be there to get you organized.

Upcoming Missions

2009 student ministry summer mission dates confirmed June 21-27: Our application to ASP for our 2009 Summer Mission has been approved. As many as 49 of us will travel (to Virginia?) June 21-27. If you will have completed the 8^th grade and will be at least 14 years old by June 21^st, you are encouraged to come with us. We will also need at least 14 adults to join us next summer. Sign-ups will begin January 27 after the Student/Parent Information Meeting (7:30… mark your calendar now!)

ASP STOCKHOLDER MEETING SUNDAY NOVEMBER 9TH: There will be a stockholder's meeting on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 9 from 12:15 to 1 pm for anyone interested in seeing and hearing about this past summer's Youth Missions Trip to the Appalachians. Come to learn about all of God's Works accomplished and our awesome students' experiences gained from your financial and prayerful support of this Ministry. There will be a video to watch, as well as a snack provided. Missionaries: Remember to bring a snack to share ( no chips please.)
