Super Bowl Party: Mark your calendars! On February 3^rd the Student Ministry will be headed back to the Buchan’s home to watch the Super Bowl together. Don’t miss the Jaguars take on the Giants. Even if you don’t like football, come for the fun and the commercials! We’ll gather for kick-off. Plan for parents to pick you up during half-time. Last year the party was so cool, school was cancelled the next day. Don’t miss it! Yes, friends are always welcome!

Student Ministry Team Retreat: Students and adults who are members of the Student Ministry Team are invited on a training and planning retreat for the student ministry. We’ll leave after school Friday, March 7^th and return at noon on March 9^th. We will stay at a house on Buckeye Lake. We will focus on fun, making plans to improve the student ministry, and developing our leadership skills. Not yet a member of the Student Ministry Team? See the next announcement!

Student Leaders Needed: If you are currently in the seventh to the eleventh grade and are interested in serving as a leader, we want you! Students leaders work with adults to plan and carry out the various programs of the student ministry. We are currently looking for members to help lead missions, FX, and Fund Raising. Student Ministry Summer Mission Information Meeting: This summer (July 13-20) the Student Ministry will be again going on a home repair mission with the Appalachia Service Project. Students who will have completed the 8^th grade and will be fourteen by July 13 are invited to an important meeting for students and parents on Tuesday, January 29^th at 7:30 PM in the Youth Room. Adults interested in participating should also plan to come. Depositys ($100) hold your spot and will be accepted beginning at the meeting. Deposits are due February 25^th. If you are interested in participating in the mission but are unable to attend the meeting, email me (students@indian-run.org).

Need Money for Trips?: Earn money to help pay your way on student ministry outings by serving brunch Sunday 1/27, 9:15-11:30 AM. Sign up at FX or by emailing Joan Williams (joanw@columbus.rr.com).

Upcoming Missions

30 Hour Famine: Save the date! This year’s 30 Hour Famine will be February 22-23. Again this year we will be raising funds to fight hunger around the world by fasting* thirty hours. (*Most of us will do a juice and water fast. Depending on your health needs, you may modify the fast in a way that makes it possible for you to participate.) Watch for more information as the date gets closer. If you are passionate about the famine we need your help on the Famine Ministry Team.
